Thule Arcos Tilt Platform
Complete your Arcos system with easier installation, tilt-down rear access and vertical folding.
The Thule Arcos Tilt Platform is the premium hitch-mounted base for the Thule Arcos cargo box.
Compared with the standard Arcos Platform, it adds a tool-free AutoAttach connection, lockable AcuTight lever and a patented release system that lets the loaded Arcos tilt away from the vehicle for easier rear access.
Choose the 1.25" or 2" version that matches your vehicle's hitch receiver.
PART OF THE ARCOS SYSTEM
The Tilt Platform Is Not a Cargo Carrier By Itself.
The Thule Arcos Tilt Platform is the required mounting base for the separately sold Thule Arcos Box L.
The platform connects to your vehicle's hitch receiver, then the Arcos Box mounts onto the platform.
If you're starting from scratch, you'll need both the Arcos Box and a compatible Arcos Platform to create the complete cargo system.

The standard Arcos Platform securely carries the box. The Tilt Platform is about making the complete system easier to live with.
Pull the outboard release handle and the platform tilts downward, helping create access to the trunk or rear hatch without first removing the cargo box.
When the box isn't installed, the platform folds vertically to reduce how far the system projects behind the vehicle.

Unlike the standard Arcos Platform, the Tilt Platform is receiver-specific.
Choose 1.25" for a compatible 1.25-inch receiver or 2" for a compatible 2-inch receiver.

Save With the Standard Arcos Platform.
If rear-access tilting, vertical stowing and tool-free AutoAttach aren't important for your setup, the standard Thule Arcos Platform completes the same Box L cargo system for less.
It also has one compatibility advantage: a single standard platform works with both 1.25" and 2" hitch receivers.
Choose the Tilt Platform for convenience. Choose the standard platform for simplicity and lower system cost.

If You're Going to Use Arcos Regularly, This Is the Platform We'd Choose.
The standard platform is perfectly capable of carrying the Arcos Box and costs substantially less.
What the Tilt Platform buys you is convenience every time the system is installed: easier hitch attachment, hand-operated rear-access tilting and the ability to fold the platform vertically when the cargo box is removed.
None of those features adds cargo capacity. They simply make the Arcos easier to live with.
If Arcos is only coming out occasionally, we'd seriously consider saving the money with the standard platform. If it's going to spend a lot of time on the vehicle, we'd choose the Tilt Platform.
