The CVX uses waterproof Black Diamond fabric and is designed to provide excellent everyday protection from rain, snow and the elements.
Like other stitched fabric products, prolonged exposure to heavy rainfall can eventually saturate the exterior fabric and allow some moisture to wick through stitching and seams. Proper fabric tension and periodic adjustment help the CVX perform as intended.
Is the truck bed waterproof? +
No truck bed with a factory tailgate should be considered completely waterproof, regardless of the type of canopy installed. Factory truck beds include seams, openings and drainage points where water and dust can enter, with the tailgate area typically being the largest potential entry point.
For customers looking for greater protection, Cap-it locations can offer additional bed-sealing solutions and tailgate seals to help reduce water and dust intrusion.
Condensation can also occur inside any enclosed truck bed as temperatures and humidity change.

Can I install the CVX myself? +
Yes. The CVX uses a no-drill clamp-on mounting system and can be installed with basic hand tools. For the initial assembly, we recommend two people, particularly when fitting and tensioning the fabric over the frame.
Installation is considerably easier when the canopy fabric is warm. If your CVX has been stored or delivered in cold conditions, allow the fabric to reach room temperature before installation. New fabric is intentionally tight and will relax somewhat after the initial installation and use.
Take time to confirm frame orientation, square and securely clamp the frame, and carefully position the supplied weatherstripping around potential gaps. Correct assembly, fabric tension and sealing are important to achieving the best fit and weather protection.
