The SmartCap Edge Defender combines the secure solid-door design of the Defender with the larger side openings and updated styling of SmartCap’s new Edge platform.
Its full-length stainless steel Gullwing doors extend farther forward toward the cab, opening more of the truck bed from either side. That makes tools, recovery gear, camping equipment and work supplies stored near the front of the box noticeably easier to reach.
With no glass side windows, the Edge Defender keeps cargo concealed while retaining the modular stainless steel construction, roof-carrying capability and accessory compatibility that define SmartCap.

The original Defender already combined solid stainless steel doors with useful Gullwing access. The Edge Defender takes that concept further by extending the side doors closer to the cab.
The larger openings expose more of the front section of the truck bed, where tools, bins and equipment are often hardest to reach. You gain better access without adding glass side windows or compromising the Defender’s concealed-storage design.

Does it arrive assembled?
No. SmartCap is a modular canopy system that requires assembly and vehicle installation. Professional installation is recommended for correct alignment, sealing, wiring and clamping.
How do I choose the correct finish?
Select Matte Black or Commercial White where offered for your chosen vehicle application. Not every application is available in both finishes.
