The PickupMate Wingman X is not simply a rooftop tent mounted above a pickup bed. It is an integrated outdoor living and entertainment system designed around the truck you already own.
At camp, the electric dual-level structure deploys into a spacious shelter with an elevated sleeping area above and usable truck-bed space below. Integrated lighting, Bluetooth audio, smart controls, a rear awning, side table and other built-in features turn the pickup into a complete outdoor basecamp.

Wingman X was conceived around a different kind of outdoor audio experience.
Rather than putting headphones between you and the environment, its integrated stereo system lets music exist alongside the sounds already around you: wind through the trees, rain on the shelter, water beside camp and conversation around the truck.
Bluetooth audio is built directly into the system, with speakers positioned across the dual-level space and controls integrated into the Wingman X experience.
Music does not replace the outdoors. It becomes part of it.

Wingman X separates sleeping from the truck-bed living area.
Up top, the expanded sleeping platform provides room for two to three people, along with a transparent skylight and a high-density mattress.
Below, the raised structure increases usable height over the truck bed, creating a sheltered area for storage, relaxing, changing clothes or organizing camp equipment.
The two levels can be raised and lowered independently to suit different uses at camp.

A Skylight Built Into the Experience
The upper sleeping level includes a transparent 690 × 625 mm (27.2 × 24.6") skylight, bringing natural light into the space during the day and creating an open view above at night.
It is another example of Wingman X being designed around the experience of staying outside, not simply around creating enclosed sleeping space.

Vehicle-Specific Fitment
Wingman X uses application-specific mounting hardware. Current North American applications include select Ford, RAM, Toyota, GMC and Jeep pickups.

Weather & Outdoor Use
Outer Shelter
The outer layer is designed as a waterproof shelter with seam tape applied to stitched seams.
Truck Bed Connection
The connection between the Wingman X structure and pickup bed is not completely sealed, so light water intrusion into the bed can occur during rain or snow.
Wingman X is an outdoor camping system, not a sealed permanent truck canopy. Items that require completely waterproof storage should be placed in suitable waterproof containers or otherwise protected.
Wind Guidelines
- Fully closed: Designed to maintain the vehicle’s normal wind profile.
- Deployed without side awning: Rated by Wild Land for approximately 11–14 m/s winds.
- Deployed with awning, poles and secured guy ropes: Rated for approximately 6–8 m/s winds.
Wingman X should not be deployed in severe weather, high winds or other conditions beyond the manufacturer’s stated limits.

Can I use it in high winds?
Wingman X has manufacturer-published wind guidelines for deployed use, but it is not intended for extreme weather. Always secure the system correctly and pack it down when conditions exceed the recommended limits.
Will it fit any pickup truck?
The core structure is designed around pickup applications, but installation requires the correct mounting hardware for the specific truck. Confirm compatibility with Cap-it before ordering.
