Important Lava Rock Safety

Keep Them Dry. Heat Gradually if Needed.

Natural volcanic rock can retain moisture. If trapped moisture is heated too quickly, it can turn to steam and may cause the rock to fracture or pop.

Keep FireCan Rocks dry whenever possible and inspect them before use. If they may have been exposed to moisture, apply heat gradually at a low setting and always follow Ignik's current operating and safety instructions.

What are Ignik FireCan Rocks made from?
FireCan Rocks are made from natural tumbled lava stone. Each package contains approximately 5 lb of lava rock.
What do FireCan Rocks actually do?
The rocks sit around the FireCan burner and help create a more variable, natural-looking flame pattern while giving the centre of the fire pit a fuller, more finished appearance.
Do I need FireCan Rocks to use my FireCan?
No. The FireCan operates without rocks. FireCan Rocks are an optional addition for customers who want a more traditional-looking campfire experience.
Do FireCan Rocks increase the heat output?
Their primary purpose is to change the appearance and behaviour of the flame. They should not be treated as an upgrade to the rated heat output of the FireCan.
Can I use ordinary landscaping or river rocks instead?
No. Do not substitute ordinary rocks or landscaping stone. Natural stone can contain trapped moisture and may fracture or pop when heated. Use appropriate fire-pit media and follow Ignik's instructions.
What should I do if the FireCan Rocks get wet?
Keep the rocks dry whenever possible. If they may have absorbed moisture, inspect them and apply heat gradually at a low setting in accordance with Ignik's instructions.
Are FireCan Rocks the same as Ignik Moon Rocks?
No. FireCan Rocks are natural tumbled lava stone. Ignik Moon Rocks are a separate lightweight ceramic product.
