Small Can. Big Fire.
Ignik FireCan Elite Portable Propane Fire Pit
Bring the campfire. Leave the smoke behind.
The Ignik FireCan Elite delivers the warmth, light and gathering place of a campfire in a rugged, propane-powered unit that packs down to approximately the size of an ammunition can.
No firewood to haul. No ashes to clean up. No sparks drifting into the trees. Simply fold down the legs, connect the included propane hose, light the burner and adjust the flame using the integrated control knob.
Compact enough for trucks, trailers, campers and adventure vehicles, yet powerful enough to produce more than 50,000 BTU/hr, the FireCan Elite has become Cap-it’s best-selling portable fire pit because it is the one people actually bring with them.
The Campfire That Travels
Traditional propane fire bowls can provide plenty of heat, but their wide circular shape often makes them awkward to carry and difficult to store. They take up valuable space in a truck box, RV compartment or overland build, which means they are often left behind.
The FireCan Elite solves that problem with a narrow, rectangular body inspired by the rugged simplicity of an ammunition can. The legs fold against the unit, the connection and flame controls tuck neatly into the end, and the removable lid closes the fire pit into one compact package.
It stores more like a toolbox than a fire bowl, allowing it to fit into places where a conventional propane fire pit simply will not.
Why It Became Our Best Seller
Easy to Pack Means More Likely to Go
A portable fire pit only adds value when it makes the trip. The FireCan Elite’s compact shape, light weight, folding legs and integrated handles make it easy to keep ready in the truck, trailer or RV, so a propane campfire is available whenever and wherever conditions allow.

The Campfire, Reinvented
Over 50,000 BTU/hr
The high-output burner produces substantial adjustable heat from a compact fire pit that is easy to position around camp.
Integrated Flame Control
The control knob is built directly into the FireCan, keeping flame adjustment close at hand without requiring a separate regulator control on the hose.
Tool-Free Quick Connection
The included hose attaches to the FireCan using a quick-connect fitting and connects to compatible refillable propane cylinders through a standard QCC1 connection.
Stainless Steel Body
Durable stainless steel construction stands up to regular outdoor use while reducing weight compared with the original steel FireCan design.
Anodized Aluminum Lid
The lightweight removable lid closes the unit for transport and includes an integrated top handle for convenient carrying.
Open Mesh Sides
Stainless mesh panels provide greater flame visibility and allow radiant heat to move outward toward the people gathered around it.
Folding Elevated Legs
Four folding legs raise the FireCan above the surface below and collapse against the body when it is time to pack up.
Silicone-Coated Handles
Side handles provide additional options for moving the unit once it has been shut down and allowed to cool completely.
Everything Packs Into One Compact Unit
Rugged Ammo-Can Design
Small Enough to Pack
Big Enough to Gather Around
At only 12 inches long and 6 inches wide, the FireCan Elite occupies a fraction of the storage space required by many traditional round propane fire bowls.
Its narrow shape fits naturally beside storage bins, camp kitchens, water containers and other rectangular gear. Once opened, the mesh sides expose the flame and allow heat to radiate toward everyone nearby.
The result is a fire pit that packs small without making the campsite feel small.
Take Your Campfire Further
Create a warm gathering place without hauling firewood.
Compact dimensions preserve valuable storage space inside your vehicle.
Store it inside a compartment and set it up beside the trailer in seconds.
Enjoy controlled propane flames where local rules and site conditions permit.
Add warmth and atmosphere before the game or outdoor event.
Bring the feeling of a campfire to evenings at home.
No Wood. No Smoke. No Flying Sparks.
A Practical Alternative to a Wood Fire
Propane fire pits may be permitted in some locations or during some restrictions when open wood fires are not. Regulations differ by province, municipality, park, campground and current wildfire conditions.
Always confirm the current local rules before lighting the FireCan. CSA certification does not automatically make propane fire pits permissible during every fire ban or at every campsite.

Apply heat gradually at a low setting when the rocks may have been exposed to moisture. Never use ordinary river rocks or unapproved stones in the FireCan.

Frequently Asked Questions
What makes the FireCan Elite different from a traditional propane fire bowl?
Its rectangular ammo-can shape occupies significantly less storage space than many round fire bowls. The legs fold against the body, the controls tuck into the end and the lid closes the unit for transport.
How much heat does the FireCan Elite produce?
Ignik rates the FireCan Elite at more than 50,000 BTU per hour. The integrated control knob allows you to reduce or increase the flame and heat output.
Is the FireCan Elite CSA certified?
Yes. The FireCan Elite is CSA certified and uses a 5 PSI quick-connect propane system.
What propane cylinders can I use?
The included hose uses a standard QCC1 connection commonly found on refillable propane cylinders. Cap-it’s current listing is intended for compatible 5 lb, 10 lb and 20 lb refillable propane cylinders. Always verify the cylinder, connection and operating instructions before use.
Does the FireCan include a propane tank?
No. The propane cylinder is sold separately.
Does it include the propane hose?
Yes. The required propane hose and regulator assembly are included.
Are Moon Rocks required?
No. The FireCan Elite operates without rocks. Ignik recommends FireCan Fire Rocks or Moon Rocks because they help vary the flames, retain heat close to the burner and create a more finished campfire appearance.
How do I order the rocks with the FireCan?
Select the FireCan + Rocks option from the product variants above. Customers who already own a FireCan can also purchase Ignik Moon Rocks separately.
Can I add ordinary lava rock or landscaping stone?
Only use fire-pit media approved for this application and follow Ignik’s instructions. Ordinary rocks can contain moisture, fracture or pop when heated and should not be placed inside the FireCan.
Can the FireCan Elite be used during a fire ban?
Possibly, depending on the specific restriction and jurisdiction. Propane appliances may be allowed in some locations when wood fires are prohibited, but rules can change quickly and vary by area. Always confirm current regulations with the appropriate local authority or campground before use.
Does it produce smoke or sparks?
The propane burner does not burn wood, so it does not create wood smoke, embers or the flying sparks associated with a traditional wood fire. Keep combustible materials clear and operate it only as instructed.
Can I cook over the FireCan Elite?
The FireCan Elite is designed as a portable propane fire pit, not as a cooking appliance or grill. Do not place cookware, food or a grill grate over it unless Ignik expressly approves that use.
Can I use it on a wood deck or picnic table?
Use the FireCan only on a stable, level, non-combustible surface and maintain all manufacturer-required clearances. Do not assume the folding legs make every surface safe.
Can it be used inside a tent, vehicle, garage or enclosed shelter?
No. The FireCan is an outdoor propane appliance and should never be operated in an enclosed or poorly ventilated space.
Can I put the lid on immediately after shutting it off?
No. Shut off the propane supply and allow the complete unit and any fire-pit media to cool fully before handling, installing the lid, disconnecting or packing it away.
Cap-it Take
Every campground has that one campsite everyone seems to gather around.
It usually is not because they have the biggest RV or the newest truck.
It is because they have a campfire.
The FireCan Elite recreates that gathering place in a package small enough to store with the rest of your gear. It sets up quickly, produces real adjustable flames and avoids the work of buying, transporting and cleaning up firewood.
We sell several portable fire pits and bowls, but the FireCan remains our best seller because its shape solves the problem most people overlook: storage.
A large fire bowl may work wonderfully once it reaches camp. The FireCan is more likely to reach camp in the first place.
For the most complete experience, we recommend choosing the FireCan Elite + Moon Rocks combination. It keeps everything we love about the compact design while giving the flame a fuller and more natural campfire appearance.
Small Can. Big Fire.

Leave the wood, smoke and bulky fire bowl behind.
