The Donkey Long Tong is an 80 cm / 32" handmade fire tong built for managing logs, coals and serious heat without leaning halfway into the fire.
Made in South Africa from 304 food-grade stainless steel, white oak, solid brass and spring stainless steel, this is not an oversized novelty kitchen tong. It's a purpose-built fire-management tool designed for fire pits, smokers, wood-fired ovens, braais and campfires.
And yes, there is a bottle opener built into it. Priorities.

LOW-MAINTENANCE DONKEY
Clean the Head. Dry It Off. Get Back to the Fire.
Donkey recommends cleaning the stainless tong head with warm water and dishwashing liquid, followed by a scrub when required.
Do not put it in the dishwasher. Mostly because an 80 cm fire tong probably won't fit anyway.

Is an 80 cm handmade fire tong necessary?
Probably not.
Neither is most of the good stuff we take camping.
But once you've used a proper long tong to move a burning log from the other side of the fire instead of leaning over the flames with a pair of kitchen tongs, it starts making an unreasonable amount of sense.
The white-oak handles feel great, the stainless construction is substantial, the reach is fantastic and the built-in bottle opener tells you pretty much everything you need to know about the people who designed it.
It's weird. It's beautifully made. It's useful. We like it.
