PROVEN ARB ONBOARD AIR

ARB 12V Twin Onboard Air Compressor CKMTA12

High-volume onboard air. 100% duty cycle. Proven around the world.

The ARB CKMTA12 Twin Compressor has earned its reputation as one of the benchmark onboard air systems for off-road trucks, 4x4s and overland vehicles.

With twin motors delivering up to 6.16 CFM of free air flow, a 100% duty cycle and a compact vehicle-mounted design, it provides serious compressed-air capacity for tire inflation, ARB Air Locker activation and many air-tool applications when paired with the appropriate accessories.

If you want a proven ARB onboard air system with years of real-world use behind it, the CKMTA12 remains an excellent choice.

WHY THE ARB TWIN?

Serious Air Without Giving Up Cargo Space

The CKMTA12 packages two compressor motors into a compact onboard system that stays permanently mounted to your vehicle.

Air down for traction on the trail, then connect your air hose and bring your tires back to highway pressure before heading home. There is no portable compressor to unpack, connect to the battery and repack after every use.

Add the appropriate components and the same compressor can also operate ARB Air Lockers or supply compressed air for many air tools when used with an optional 4-litre air tank.

Built for More Than Occasional Tire Inflation

Twin-Motor Performance

Dual motors deliver up to 6.16 CFM of free air flow for substantially more air volume than a conventional compact onboard compressor.

100% Duty Cycle

Designed for sustained operation, making the CKMTA12 particularly well suited to larger tires, repeated inflation and demanding onboard-air applications.

ARB Air Locker Ready

Designed to support ARB Air Locker activation when configured with the appropriate solenoids, switches and air-system components.

Air Tool Capability

Add an optional 4-litre air tank and the high-volume Twin can support many air-powered tools in the field.

Built for Harsh Conditions

Sealed components, hard-anodized cylinder bores and an IP55-rated cooling fan help prepare the compressor for demanding off-road environments.

Integrated Protection

An integrated pressure switch and over-pressure safety valve are built into the compressor system.

HIGH-VOLUME ONBOARD AIR

Air Down for the Trail. Air Back Up for the Highway.

Lower tire pressure can improve traction and ride quality off-road, but eventually those tires need to come back up to highway pressure.

The ARB Twin delivers 6.16 CFM at 0 PSI and 4.68 CFM at 29 PSI, providing the air volume needed to make repeated tire inflation much less of a chore.

For trucks running larger all-terrain or mud-terrain tires, that high-volume output is exactly why the ARB Twin became such a popular onboard compressor.

Engineered for Life on a 4x4

Hard-Anodized Cylinder Bores

Designed to reduce friction within the compressor cylinders during operation.

Carbon-Fibre Piston Seals

Teflon-impregnated carbon-fibre piston seals are engineered for reliable long-term compressor operation.

Heat-Dissipating Mount

The anodized mounting bracket helps dissipate heat generated during compressor operation.

Active Fan Cooling

An IP55-rated brushless cooling fan helps cool the electronics, compressor motors and cylinder heads.

One Onboard Air System. Multiple Uses.

Tire Inflation

Air tires back up after running reduced pressure off-road.

Larger 4x4 Tires

High-volume output is well suited to larger all-terrain and mud-terrain tires.

ARB Air Lockers

Use the compressor to activate compatible ARB Air Locker systems.

Air Tools

Pair with an optional 4-litre tank for many air-tool applications.

WANT MORE AIR?

Meet the New ARB Brushless Twin

The CKMTA12 remains ARB's proven brushed Twin Compressor, but ARB now offers a higher-output option for customers who want the latest onboard-air technology.

The new CKBLTA12 Brushless Twin increases free air flow from 6.16 CFM to 9.18 CFM while adding brushless motors, electronic speed control, active cooling, Smart Start and live system diagnostics.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the ARB CKMTA12 a portable compressor?

No. The CKMTA12 is an onboard compressor designed to be permanently installed in the vehicle. ARB offers separate portable compressor systems for customers who do not want a vehicle-mounted installation.

Does the ARB Twin have a 100% duty cycle?

Yes. ARB rates the CKMTA12 Twin Compressor at a 100% duty cycle.

How much air does the ARB Twin produce?

ARB rates the CKMTA12 at 6.16 CFM at 0 PSI and 4.68 CFM at 29 PSI.

Can it operate ARB Air Lockers?

Yes. The CKMTA12 is designed for ARB Air Locker activation when installed with the appropriate Air Locker components and accessories.

Can I use the ARB Twin with air tools?

Yes. ARB states that the CKMTA12 is suitable for many air tools when used with an optional 4-litre air tank and the appropriate air-system components.

What is the difference between the CKMTA12 and the new Brushless Twin?

The CKMTA12 is ARB's proven brushed Twin Compressor and produces 6.16 CFM of free air flow. The newer CKBLTA12 uses brushless motors and increases free air flow to 9.18 CFM while adding electronic speed control, Smart Start and onboard diagnostics.

Is the cooling fan brushless?

Yes. Although the CKMTA12 uses brushed compressor motors, ARB specifies an IP55 brushless cooling fan for cooling the electronics, motors and cylinder heads.

THE CAP-IT TAKE

Proven Doesn't Suddenly Mean Outdated

The arrival of ARB's Brushless Twin doesn't change what made the CKMTA12 such a successful onboard compressor in the first place.

You still get 6.16 CFM of free air flow, a 100% duty cycle, Air Locker compatibility and a compact onboard package with a long track record in off-road and overland vehicles.

If maximum inflation speed and ARB's newest electronics are the priority, step up to the Brushless Twin. If you want the proven ARB Twin platform and its substantial onboard-air capability, the CKMTA12 still makes a lot of sense.
