ALU-CAB THOR | LAND CRUISER ROOF CONVERSION
Keep the Wagon. Add the Camper.
The Toyota Land Cruiser 76 is one of the world's great expedition wagons. The Alu-Cab Thor turns its roof into an integrated two-person sleeping system, adding standing room inside while preserving the capability and practicality that make the LC76 such a legendary travel vehicle.
THE THOR DIFFERENCE
Your 76 Stays a 76.
Thor does not turn the Land Cruiser 76 into a bulky motorhome. It transforms the roof itself into the sleeping space.
At camp, the pop-top raises to create standing room inside the wagon and a proper sleeping platform above. When it is time to move, the roof closes back down over the vehicle and the LC76 returns to its familiar expedition-ready profile.
That makes Thor particularly compelling for travellers who want an integrated camper without giving up the five-door wagon format they chose in the first place.
SLEEP ABOVE
A Proper Bed Above the Wagon.
Thor provides a sleeping area measuring 2220 × 1140 mm (approximately 7 ft 3 3/8 in × 3 ft 8 7/8 in) for two adults.
A 70 mm / 2 3/4 in mattress creates a dedicated sleeping platform, while the pop-top design allows bedding to remain stored inside when the roof is closed.
Two compact bed-entry openings connect the vehicle interior to the sleeping area, keeping the sleeping space integrated with the wagon rather than requiring an exterior ladder.
LIVE BELOW
The Cargo Area Still Works for You.
One of Thor's biggest advantages is what happens below the bed. The LC76's rear cargo area remains available for storage, kitchen systems, seating and expedition gear while the sleeping platform lives overhead.
That separation between living space and sleeping space is what makes an integrated roof conversion fundamentally different from simply mounting a rooftop tent on top of the vehicle.
ON THE MOVE
A Camper at Camp. A Land Cruiser on the Road.
Closed, Thor adds approximately 270 mm / 10 5/8 in to the vehicle height while maintaining a compact integrated profile.
The aluminium conversion is designed around the LC76 rather than simply sitting on top of it, preserving the purposeful shape and usability of the wagon for long-distance travel.
BUILT AS A SYSTEM
Not a Tent Bolted Onto a Roof.
Aluminium Construction
Aluminium construction and custom roller-formed components provide rigidity and durability while keeping the conversion integrated with the vehicle.
Insulated Roof
Polyethylene closed-cell foam insulation and an automotive-style interior finish help create a more comfortable living space inside the vehicle.
400 gsm Canvas
Heavy-duty UV-resistant, rip-block, double-layer waterproof canvas surrounds the raised sleeping area, with a roll-up fly sheet for additional weather protection.
Integrated Lighting
Two diffused LED lights are integrated into the conversion for practical interior illumination.
Roof MOLLE Plates
Integrated MOLLE mounting areas provide additional space for attaching compatible expedition accessories.
High-Level Brake Light
An integrated high-level brake light is built into the conversion as part of the complete roof system.
EXPEDITION ORGANIZATION
Built to Carry More Than Just a Bed.
Thor incorporates MOLLE mounting surfaces and roof cargo tracks, allowing compatible accessories and load-bar systems to become part of the vehicle rather than an afterthought.
The result is an integrated platform that can support the sleeping, storage and accessory requirements of a serious touring build.
ROOF CARGO
The Roof Still Works.
Integrated roof cargo tracks make it straightforward to add compatible load bars and roof-mounted equipment.
BUILT FOR THE JOURNEY
A Roof Conversion for People Who Actually Travel.
Thor makes the LC76 easier to live from without changing what makes the vehicle special. Carry bikes, paddling gear, recovery equipment and a complete camp system, then open the roof and create your sleeping space when the day is done.

SPECIAL ORDER IN CANADA
Imported Land Cruiser 76? Talk to Cap-it.
The Toyota Land Cruiser 76 has not been a mainstream Canadian-market vehicle, but imported examples are increasingly part of Canada's overland community. Thor is therefore offered by Cap-it as a Special Order roof conversion.
Before ordering, our team can review your vehicle year, configuration and photos, confirm current compatibility and availability, and discuss installation and compatible accessories.
PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION
This Is a Roof Conversion, Not a Bolt-On Accessory.
Installing Thor changes the roof structure of the Land Cruiser 76 and should be treated as a complete vehicle conversion. Proper fitment, sealing, electrical integration and final inspection are critical to the finished system. Cap-it can help plan the conversion and installation requirements before the product is ordered.
