LOAD CAPACITY CHANGES WITH HEIGHT

The adjustable design means the rack's rated capacity changes depending on how high the crossbars are positioned.
Never exceed the truck manufacturer's applicable load limit. When multiple components are used together, the lowest applicable load rating governs the complete system.

PLANNING TO MOUNT A ROOFTOP TENT?
Confirm the Tent-to-Crossbar Connection Too.
Confirming that the Xsporter Pro fits your truck is only the first fitment check. A rooftop tent also has to mount correctly to the Xsporter Pro's large aluminium crossbars.
Many Thule rooftop tents require the Thule Xadapt 14 Adapter Kit when installed on Xsporter or TracRac crossbars. This includes a number of Thule Basin, Explorer, Ruggedized, Foothill, Low-Pro and Approach applications.
Other rooftop-tent brands may use different brackets or adapters. Do not assume that standard tent mounting hardware will fit the Xsporter Pro crossbars.
Before mounting any rooftop tent, confirm the truck, Xsporter rack position and load rating, tent mounting hardware, bar spacing and all applicable vehicle and accessory ratings.
THULE ROOFTOP TENT ADAPTER
Some Thule Tents Require Xadapt 14.
The Thule Xadapt 14 is designed to connect compatible Thule rooftop tents to Thule Xsporter and TracRac truck-rack crossbars.
If you're purchasing this rack specifically for a rooftop tent, confirm your exact tent model before ordering the rack or mounting hardware.
TONNEAU COVER COMPATIBILITY
This Legacy Xsporter Pro Uses the Bed-Rail Mounting Area.
The clearance Xsporter Pro 500XT / 500XTB mounts at the truck-bed rails. Tonneau covers and tonneau mounting rails that occupy or interfere with the required mounting area are not compatible with this installation.
If your truck currently has a tonneau cover, contact Cap-it before ordering. Do not assume that because a newer Thule truck-rack system works with certain tonneau covers, this legacy adjustable Xsporter Pro will do the same.
INSTALLATION & FITMENT
No Drilling on Compatible Applications.
The Xsporter Pro is designed for clamp-on installation without cutting or drilling when used on a compatible truck with the correct mounting hardware.
Some factory bed-track applications require additional vehicle-specific adapters, including the known Toyota Tacoma applications identified above.

The adjustable-height design is still the feature that makes this rack interesting. One system can move from a lower everyday position to a taller configuration when you need cab clearance for longer cargo.
At clearance pricing, the value is excellent, especially on the aluminium 500XT at $600 off. But this isn't a rack we'd recommend buying based on price alone.
Fitment matters. Make sure it works with your truck first, then make sure whatever you're putting on top works with the Xsporter crossbars and the rack's capacity at the height you intend to use.
Get those pieces right and this clearance rack is a very compelling way to add serious carrying capability to a truck.
