The Thule OutPace is a hitch-mounted bike rack designed around everyday convenience rather than unnecessary bulk.
Independent articulated bike arms adapt to different frame geometries, the rack arrives fully assembled, and a built-in carrying handle makes installation and removal easier. When the ride is over, the OutPace folds into a compact package that takes up substantially less space in the garage or trunk.
Choose the 2-bike OutPace for $799.95 or the 3-bike OutPace for $949.95. Both fit 1.25" and 2" hitch receivers.
COMPACT BY DESIGN
A Platform Rack Without the Usual Bulk.
Not every rider needs the biggest, heaviest bike rack in the Thule lineup. The OutPace is designed for riders who want the stability and convenience of a platform-style carrier in a package that's easier to install, remove and store.
The 2-bike version weighs approximately 29 lb, while the 3-bike version weighs approximately 36 lb. An integrated carrying handle makes getting the rack between the vehicle and garage easier.
If your bike rack spends part of its life off the vehicle, that difference matters.

Fully Assembled
The OutPace arrives fully assembled, eliminating the usual first-day rack assembly and getting you from the box to the vehicle faster.
Articulated Bike Arms
Independent arms use adjustable pivoting heads and straps to adapt to a wide range of frame geometries and frame tube diameters from 20 to 90 mm.
Load Bikes in Any Order
Independent bike arms allow bikes to be loaded and unloaded individually, so you don't have to remove one bike simply to get to another.
Rear Hatch Access
Tilt the carrier down for easier access to the vehicle's rear cargo area, even when bikes are loaded. Actual hatch clearance varies by vehicle.
Compact Parking Position
Tilt the unloaded rack upward toward the vehicle to reduce its rear footprint while parked. The upright position is for parking only, not driving.
Compact Storage
Fold the OutPace down into a compact package when it's off the vehicle, making it easier to store in a garage, shed or vehicle cargo area.

Both OutPace models fit 1.25" and 2" hitch receivers and carry up to 110 lb total.
Maximum individual bike weight is 55 lb. On the 3-bike model, remember that the 110 lb total rack capacity still applies, so the combined weight of all three bikes cannot exceed that limit.
The OutPace accommodates frame tube diameters from 20 to 90 mm, tires up to 3 inches wide and wheelbases up to 1250 mm.
The OutPace secures bikes using frame-contact straps. Bike frame shape, carbon construction, fenders and other bike-specific equipment should be considered when determining compatibility.

Thule specifies that the OutPace is not compatible with RVs, travel trailers or caravans, fifth wheels, bumper-mounted hitch receivers, or vans of any kind, including passenger, cargo and converted vans.

Buy the OutPace Because You Don't Want to Wrestle With Your Bike Rack.
The OutPace makes the most sense for riders who like the stability and convenience of a hitch-mounted platform rack but don't want a large, heavy carrier hanging around when they're not riding.
At approximately 29 lb for the 2-bike and 36 lb for the 3-bike, it's substantially easier to handle than many heavy-duty platform racks. It arrives assembled, folds down for storage, tilts for cargo access and can be folded toward the vehicle while parked to reduce its footprint.
The trade-off is capacity. The OutPace is rated for a maximum individual bike weight of 55 lb and a maximum combined load of 110 lb. Riders with substantially heavier e-bikes or very wide tires should look at another Thule platform rack designed specifically around those requirements.
For everyday bikes, occasional rides and anyone who values compact storage and easy handling, the OutPace hits a very useful middle ground.
