Its wing-shaped profile and forward-leaning nose are engineered to reduce aerodynamic resistance, while the glossy exterior and sculpted shape complement modern vehicle styling.
If you're going to leave a cargo box on the roof for a road trip, ski season or an entire travel season, Motion 3 is designed to look and behave like it belongs there.

PowerClick Mounting
Thule's quick-mount hardware includes an integrated torque indicator that clicks when the mounting system has been properly tightened.
DualSide Opening
Load or unload from either side of the vehicle, giving you flexibility based on parking position, traffic and roof access.
One-Hand Operation
A sturdy lid and wide integrated handle are designed for smooth opening and closing with one hand.
SlideLock Security
Separate locking and opening functions automatically secure the lid and indicate when the box has been properly closed.
Forward Roof Position
Motion 3 is designed to sit forward on the vehicle to help reduce the risk of interference with the rear hatch.

Standard Height or Low Profile?
Motion 3 gives you more than a simple progression from small to large. The Low models trade some interior height for a noticeably lower rooftop profile while retaining the length needed for skis and other long gear.
Start with what you need to carry, then consider vehicle length, garage clearance, hatch clearance and whether reducing overall roof height matters to you.

LOW PROFILE OPTIONS
Less Height Without Giving Up Long-Gear Capacity.
The XL Low and XXL Low are designed for customers who want the length of a large cargo box but prefer a lower overall rooftop profile.
The XL Low sits only 30 cm above the crossbars while still accommodating skis up to 200 cm. The XXL Low increases that to 215 cm while remaining lower than the standard XXL.
The trade-off is straightforward: less vertical cargo space in exchange for a sleeker, lower roofline.
BEFORE YOU ORDER
Box Size Is Only Half the Fitment Decision.
Your vehicle needs a compatible roof-rack system with the appropriate dynamic load rating, crossbar spacing and mounting geometry.
Thule Motion 3 is compatible with systems including WingBar Evo, AeroBlade, SquareBar Evo and ProBar Evo. Some platforms and truck-rack systems require separate adapters.
Rear-hatch clearance also changes by vehicle and Motion 3 size. A larger or longer box can require additional distance between the front crossbar and the rear hatch.

Motion 3 Is the Box We'd Choose When the Box Itself Matters.
Force 3 does the practical cargo-box job extremely well.
Motion 3 is for the customer who also cares about how the box looks, how smoothly it opens, how it behaves in the wind and how integrated it feels with the vehicle.
The Low versions are especially interesting. They sacrifice some vertical cargo volume, but they preserve long-ski capacity while noticeably reducing the height sitting above the crossbars.
If premium finish, aerodynamics and everyday refinement matter, we'd move up to Motion 3. If maximum value and rugged practicality matter more, we'd look seriously at Force 3.
