What size Planar diesel heater is best for a rooftop tent?

For most rooftop tents, Cap-it recommends starting with the Planar 2D 2kW. Its lower heat output, lower fuel consumption and lower electrical draw are generally better suited to compact sleeping spaces than simply choosing the highest-output heater available.

When should I choose the Planar 4kW?

Choose the Planar 4D 4kW when you're heating a larger camper, van, motorhome, enclosed trailer, large tent or shelter where substantially more heating capacity and airflow are required.

Can a Planar diesel heater be used for winter camping?

Yes. Planar portable diesel heaters are designed for cold-weather applications including rooftop tents, campers, vans, shelters and winter camps. The heater and combustion exhaust must remain outside occupied sleeping or living areas, with only the heated-air duct routed into the space.
