Pelican designed the V800 to carry two scoped rifles, providing an interior measuring approximately 53.00" L × 16.00" W × 6.00" D.
That extra length also gives overland and equipment-storage customers room for long tools, recovery equipment, tripods and other gear that simply doesn't fit efficiently into a conventional cargo box.

The usable interior measures approximately 53" × 16" × 6", so measure the complete equipment configuration you intend to transport rather than relying solely on the nominal size of an individual item.
If you're mounting the case externally, also confirm the available rack area, crossbar spacing, loaded weight and vehicle clearances.

The Extra Nine Inches Make the V800 a Very Different Case.
The V730 is already a useful long case. The V800 stretches the interior to 53 inches, creating enough room for two scoped rifles or substantially longer equipment.
For us, that also makes the V800 especially interesting outside its original firearms application. Fifty-three inches of protected storage in a case only about 6.65 inches tall externally is a useful shape on an overland vehicle.
Add the no-drill Vault roof mounts and the V800 can become a rugged low-profile rooftop equipment box without permanently drilling through the Pelican shell.
If you need the additional length, whether for rifles, long tools or exterior overland storage, the V800 gives you a lot of protected space without turning into a tall conventional cargo box.
