Alu-Cab Silenus Roof Conversion

Alu-Cab Silenus Roof Conversion for INEOS Grenadier

Turn your INEOS Grenadier into a self-contained expedition vehicle with standing room, integrated sleeping space and unmistakable Alu-Cab engineering.

Now Available in Canada

The Alu-Cab Silenus Roof Conversion is now in stock and available for professional installation on compatible INEOS Grenadier vehicles.

Visit Alu-Cab Canada’s headquarters at Cap-it Langley Township, BC to experience Silenus installed on our own Grenadier. Open it, climb inside and see what this transformation actually adds to the vehicle.

The Silenus Roof Conversion is not a rooftop tent mounted above your INEOS Grenadier. It becomes part of the Grenadier itself.

Alu-Cab replaces the factory roof with a purpose-built aluminium pop-top system that adds a full sleeping platform, interior standing room, integrated power, lighting, ventilation, roof storage capability and a new level of expedition functionality.

With the roof raised and the bed platform lifted, you can stand inside the Grenadier, change clothes, organize equipment or take shelter from the weather. When it is time to sleep, lower the bed and settle onto a full-length mattress measuring approximately 2588 mm long by 1180 mm wide.

When closed, the tapered aluminium roof follows the Grenadier’s purposeful body lines and maintains the rugged, integrated appearance the vehicle deserves.

This is not an accessory added to your Grenadier. It is the next evolution of the vehicle.

From Grenadier to Expedition Vehicle

The INEOS Grenadier is already built to travel beyond the pavement. Silenus adds the living and sleeping capability required to stay out there longer.

Instead of carrying a separate tent or adding a conventional rooftop tent above the factory roof, Silenus integrates the sleeping system directly into the vehicle. You retain the Grenadier’s interior cargo space while gaining a full-length bed and usable standing room above it.

  • Integrated two-person sleeping platform
  • Interior standing room when the bed is raised
  • Fast one-person opening
  • Full-length 72 mm mattress
  • Interior access from inside the Grenadier
  • Small rear bed section helps preserve access without disturbing the entire sleeping platform
  • Integrated power, lighting and solar preparation
  • Exterior cargo rails and accessory mounting channels
  • Room to leave suitable bedding inside when closed

Why a Roof Conversion?

A conventional rooftop tent sits above the vehicle. Silenus replaces the factory roof and connects the sleeping area directly to the cabin, creating one integrated living space with internal access, standing room and a lower-profile, vehicle-specific design.

Stand Up Inside Your Grenadier

One of the biggest advantages of Silenus is what happens below the bed.

Raise the pop-top and lift the sleeping platform to create standing room inside the Grenadier. You can move around, access cargo, change clothing and prepare for the day without immediately stepping outside into rain, snow or wind.

At camp, the Grenadier becomes more than transportation. It becomes a protected base for sleeping, organizing gear and living out of the vehicle.

Sleep Above. Live Below.

Lower the bed when it is time to sleep. Raise it when you need standing room. Silenus gives the Grenadier two distinct interior modes without requiring a trailer or permanent rear-cabin conversion.

A Proper Full-Length Bed

Silenus includes a substantial sleeping platform measuring approximately 2588 mm long by 1180 mm wide, with a 72 mm mattress.

The unusual bed length gives taller travellers room to stretch out, while the small independent rear bed section helps maintain interior access without requiring the entire sleeping platform to be moved.

  • Designed to sleep two people
  • 2588 mm x 1180 mm sleeping area
  • 72 mm mattress
  • Insulated roof construction
  • 400 gsm double-layer canvas
  • Internal shoe bag included
  • Suitable bedding can remain stored inside

Built to Look Like It Belongs There

Silenus was designed specifically for the INEOS Grenadier. Its tapered front profile, black finish and strong horizontal lines complement the vehicle rather than appearing like a universal tent attached as an afterthought.

Custom roller-formed aluminium components provide rigidity and strength while helping control weight. A continuous perimeter seal between the roof lid and base provides weather protection when the system is closed.

  • Vehicle-specific design for the INEOS Grenadier
  • Black aluminium construction
  • Custom roller-formed structure for strength and rigidity
  • Tapered front profile designed to reduce aerodynamic drag
  • Continuous perimeter sealing rubber
  • Automotive-style interior finish
  • Compatible with Grenadiers with or without factory auxiliary roof power points

The goal was not to place a box on top of the Grenadier. Silenus follows the vehicle’s design and turns the roof itself into the expedition system.

Power, Lighting and Solar Preparation

Silenus includes integrated electrical features for both the sleeping area and the living space below.

  • 2 x USB charging ports
  • 2 x USB-C charging ports
  • 2 x interior LED lights
  • 1 x exterior roof LED light
  • USB kill switches to reduce standby battery draw
  • Integrated Anderson plugs in the roof for solar connection
  • Supports Grenadiers with or without auxiliary roof power points

The completed electrical system must be connected to an appropriate fused vehicle or auxiliary power supply. Solar panels, batteries and charging equipment are sold separately.

Carry Gear Above the Roof

Integrated cargo rails make it possible to add compatible load bars and roof-mounted equipment without requiring a separate full-vehicle roof rack.

Silenus is rated to carry up to 50 kg (110 lb) of compatible rooftop cargo, subject to the ratings of the load bars, mounting hardware, vehicle and completed installation.

Double nut channels along both sides provide additional mounting locations for compatible Alu-Cab accessories.

  • Integrated roof cargo rails
  • 50 kg (110 lb) roof load rating
  • Dual side nut channels for accessory mounting
  • Compatible with Alu-Cab load-bar systems
  • Compatible with selected roof-conversion accessories

See Silenus in Person

A roof conversion is difficult to fully understand from photographs. The real impact becomes clear when you stand inside the Grenadier, raise the bed, see the available headroom and inspect how the system integrates with the vehicle.

Professional Installation Is Required

Installing Silenus involves permanently removing and cutting the factory roof of your INEOS Grenadier. This is not a bolt-on rooftop accessory and it is not suitable for home installation.

The conversion must be completed by a qualified installer with the correct equipment, technical knowledge and experience in structural vehicle modifications, sealing, wiring and final fitment.

We Are Cutting the Roof of Your Grenadier

There is no room for shortcuts. Correct preparation, measurement, cutting, structural fitment, sealing, wiring and final inspection are essential to the long-term performance of the conversion.

  • Pre-installation vehicle inspection
  • Protection and preparation of the vehicle interior and body
  • Removal of the required factory roof components

Who Is Silenus?

In Greek mythology, Silenus was the wise and spirited companion of Dionysus, known for balancing knowledge, adventure and an appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

The name reflects Alu-Cab’s approach to the Grenadier, purposeful, capable and built for people who believe the journey should be enjoyed as much as the destination.

It is also a fitting nod to the INEOS Grenadier itself, a vehicle famously conceived through conversations in Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s favourite pub.
