Wild Land Skyera Automatic Hard-Shell Rooftop Tent
Automatic setup. Panoramic views. A transparent roof made for sleeping beneath the stars.
2026 Red Dot Award Winner
Wild Land has announced the Skyera as a winner of the 2026 Red Dot Award: Product Design.
The Red Dot is an internationally recognized distinction awarded to products that demonstrate high design quality. An international jury evaluates each entry individually, considering qualities such as function, ease of use, innovation, appearance and durability.
Skyera earns attention not from one feature alone, but from the way its automatic lift system, panoramic transparent roof, expanding structure and integrated camp equipment work together as one complete rooftop-tent experience.
The Wild Land Skyera is the current name for the automatic rooftop tent previously sold in Canada as the Sky Rover 2.0. It continues to use Wild Land’s established SR-series model designation, VMS-RT-SR140.
The updated name better reflects what makes this tent special. Skyera combines push-button deployment, a transparent overhead roof, expansive windows and a roomy two-to-three-person interior in one of the most distinctive rooftop tents available.
Activate the electric lift using either of the two included wireless remote controls or the compatible mobile app. The X-shaped support system raises the tent into position, creating a tall, open sleeping space without the physical unfolding required by most large rooftop tents.
Push the button. Open the roof. Sleep beneath the sky.
Why Skyera Is Different
Most rooftop tents require some compromise between quick setup, interior space and an open view of the outdoors. Skyera was designed to deliver all three.
Its powered trapezoidal folding structure remains relatively compact while travelling, then expands to create a spacious interior with a transparent roof, three windows and a large entry door.
- Automatic electric setup and pack-down
- Two wireless remote controls included
- Compatible mobile-app operation
- Approximately 60-second powered folding cycle
- Transparent polycarbonate roof for overhead views
- Three windows and one large entry door
- Roomy sleeping space for two to three occupants
- Diagonal X-shaped support system
- Automatic operating protection and power monitoring
- Emergency manual-lifting capability
- Mattress, bedding accessories, lounge and lighting included
More Than an Automatic Tent
Skyera brings together the shelter, lifting system, transparent roof, ladder, lighting and selected camp accessories as one coordinated rooftop setup. It is designed to make arrival at camp easier and the time spent inside more memorable.
Automatic Setup at the Push of a Button
Skyera uses an electric lifting system to open and close the tent without manually unfolding a large canvas-and-frame assembly.
Use either of the two supplied wireless remote controls or operate the system through the compatible mobile app. Built-in monitoring helps detect abnormal operation and protects the lifting mechanism.
- One-touch powered opening and closing
- Two wireless remote controls included
- Compatible mobile-app control
- Approximately 60-second powered folding cycle
- Automatic operating-protection mechanism
- Low-voltage and current warning system
- Emergency manual-lifting mode
Automatic Convenience With a Manual Backup
The electric system makes everyday operation easier, while the emergency manual-lifting mode provides a backup method if normal powered operation is unavailable. Follow the supplied Wild Land instructions for emergency operation.
The Transparent Roof Changes Everything
The defining feature of Skyera is the large transparent polycarbonate panel positioned directly above the sleeping area.
Leave the view open for stargazing, cloud watching and a brighter interior, or use the integrated privacy covering when you prefer shade and a more enclosed sleeping environment.
Wild Land describes the transparent roof material as anti-UV, scratch resistant and designed to resist yellowing through extended exposure.
- Large transparent overhead roof panel
- Open views from inside the tent
- Stargazing and privacy configurations
- Anti-UV transparent polycarbonate shell
- Scratch-resistant construction
- Designed to resist yellowing
- Natural light without opening the tent canvas
Your Private Observatory
Turn out the lights, open the overhead view and watch the night sky from the mattress. Skyera creates a camping experience that an opaque hard-shell rooftop tent cannot reproduce.
Panoramic Light and Ventilation
In addition to the transparent roof, Skyera includes three windows and one large entry door. Together, they create a bright interior with strong cross-ventilation and wide views of the campsite.
Mosquito-proof mesh allows the openings to remain open for airflow while helping keep insects outside. The extended eave design also provides shade and some protection around the openings during light rain.
- One large entry door
- Three surrounding windows
- Insect-screened openings
- Cross-ventilation from multiple sides
- Wide outward visibility
- Extended eaves for shade and rain protection
Spacious Sleeping for Two to Three
Skyera provides an inner tent space measuring approximately 215 cm long by 145 cm wide, with a maximum interior height of approximately 100 cm.
That creates a generous sleeping area for two adults, with the flexibility to accommodate a child or smaller third occupant depending on the preferred sleeping arrangement.
A 4 cm high-density foam mattress is included, finished with a skin-friendly thermal cover.
- Approximately 215 cm of interior length
- Approximately 145 cm of interior width
- Approximately 100 cm maximum interior height
- Rated for two to three occupants
- 4 cm high-density foam mattress
- Skin-friendly thermal mattress cover
- 280 g rip-stop polycotton tent fabric
Cap-it Take: Skyera is best considered a luxurious two-person tent with the flexibility to accommodate a child or smaller third sleeper when required.
X-Shaped Support Structure
The powered lifting mechanism uses a diagonal X-shaped scissor structure to raise the tent and support the expanded shelter.
This geometry allows Skyera to remain compact while closed and create greater length, height and usable volume once opened.
- Trapezoidal folding layout
- Diagonal X-shaped scissor supports
- Compact closed footprint
- Expanded interior volume when opened
- Automatic operating protection

Comfortable Telescopic Ladder
The included telescopic ladder uses wide steps to provide more comfortable access than narrow round-rung designs.

- Telescopic height adjustment
- Adaptable positioning for different vehicle heights

Vehicle Fitment and Roof Capacity
At approximately 99 kg for the tent plus 8 kg for the ladder, Skyera requires a properly engineered, load-rated mounting platform.
The tent may be suitable for select SUVs, pickup trucks, vans, trailers and truck canopies, but compatibility must be confirmed for the specific vehicle and rack system.
Before ordering, verify the dynamic and static ratings of the vehicle roof, crossbars, roof rack, canopy or trailer platform. Available mounting space, crossbar position and the completed vehicle payload must also be considered.
- Suitable for select mid-size and full-size SUVs
- Suitable for select mid-size and full-size pickup trucks
- May be installed on properly rated truck canopies
- May be installed on compatible vans or trailers
- Requires a load-rated mounting platform
- Vehicle payload and centre of gravity must be considered
- Professional fitment confirmation is strongly recommended
Important Fitment Note
The tent, ladder, occupants, rack, mounting hardware and all additional roof-mounted equipment must remain within every applicable vehicle and component rating. The lowest rating within the complete system governs the finished installation.
Power Requirements
Skyera’s electric lift requires connection to an appropriate power supply. The installation should use suitable wiring, fuse protection and connectors based on Wild Land’s current installation instructions.
The automatic warning system monitors voltage and current conditions. Emergency manual operation remains available if the powered system cannot be used.
- Powered electric lifting mechanism
- Two remote controls included
- Compatible mobile-app control

- Automatic abnormal-operation protection
- Emergency manual-lifting mode
Vehicle wiring and power-source requirements should be confirmed before installation.

Wild Land now markets the product internationally as Skyera. Cap-it has adopted the current manufacturer name while retaining the former Sky Rover 2.0 reference in this description for existing customers and search continuity.
What does winning a Red Dot Award mean?
The Red Dot Award: Product Design is an international design competition. Products receiving the Red Dot distinction are selected by an international jury for high design quality, with evaluation considering qualities such as function, usability, innovation, form and durability.
Does Skyera open automatically?
Yes. Skyera uses an electric lift mechanism controlled by either of the two included wireless remotes or the compatible mobile app.
How long does setup take?
Wild Land specifies an approximately 60-second powered folding cycle. Total campsite setup time will also include ladder positioning and arranging the interior.
What happens if electrical power is unavailable?
Skyera includes an emergency manual-lifting mode. Follow Wild Land’s supplied instructions for the correct backup-operating procedure.
Can I see through the roof?
Yes. The large transparent polycarbonate roof provides an overhead view of the sky. A privacy covering can be used when shade or a more enclosed interior is preferred.
Will the transparent roof yellow?
Wild Land describes the transparent roof material as anti-UV, scratch resistant and designed to resist yellowing. Proper cleaning, storage and care are still important.

Does Skyera include a mattress?
Yes. A 4 cm high-density foam mattress with a skin-friendly thermal cover is included.
