Wild Land OrthFrame 130 V2 Hard-Shell Rooftop Tent

Compact on the vehicle. Spacious at camp. Built to stay mounted and ready for the next escape.

Summer Sale: Save $600

Save $600 on the new Wild Land OrthFrame 130 V2 for a limited time.

Choose the Tent Only configuration or add the optional Wild Land roof bars to carry compatible gear above the closed tent while travelling.

The Wild Land OrthFrame 130 V2 is built for campers who want a proper hard-shell rooftop tent without permanently overwhelming the vehicle.

Closed, it measures only approximately 144 cm long and 29 cm high. That compact footprint leaves more usable roof space, presents less frontal area to the wind and makes the OrthFrame easier to live with between camping trips.

Open it at camp and the compact shell unfolds into a comfortable two-person sleeping area measuring approximately 210 cm long by 125 cm wide. One large entry door, three windows and the elevated roof create a bright, well-ventilated interior that feels far larger than the packed size suggests.

Inside, a 5 cm high-density foam mattress sits over a breathable anti-condensation layer. An integrated LED light strip illuminates the tent after dark, while the included telescopic aluminium ladder provides dependable access from a properly rated vehicle, canopy or rack system.

Leave it mounted. Keep your truck ready. Camp more often.

Why the OrthFrame Works

Some rooftop tents are built to be the largest thing on the vehicle. The OrthFrame takes a different approach.

Its compact hard-shell design gives you the comfort and weather protection of a full rooftop tent while remaining manageable enough for everyday driving. It is a strong choice for customers who want to keep their camping setup mounted throughout the season instead of installing and removing it before every trip.

  • Compact 144 cm closed length
  • Low 29 cm closed height
  • Approximately 55 kg tent weight
  • Full 210 cm interior sleeping length
  • Comfortable two-person sleeping platform
  • 5 cm high-density foam mattress
  • Breathable anti-condensation layer
  • One large entry door and three windows
  • Integrated interior LED light strip
  • Aluminium frame and hard-shell construction
  • Optional roof-bar package available

Small on the Road, Not Small Where It Matters

The OrthFrame saves space while closed, not while you are sleeping. Its 210 cm interior length provides proper room to stretch out, while the fold-out design creates useful width and headroom without requiring an oversized travel shell.

Choose Your OrthFrame Configuration

The OrthFrame 130 V2 is available in two configurations, allowing you to keep the setup as light and simple as possible or add carrying capacity above the closed tent.

Tent Only

The cleanest and lightest OrthFrame configuration. Choose Tent Only when your priority is compact rooftop camping without carrying additional equipment above the tent.

Tent + Roof Bars

Adds two Wild Land roof bars above the hard shell, allowing compatible lightweight equipment to be carried while the tent is closed and the vehicle is in transit.

The roof bars are not included with the Tent Only configuration. Select the Tent + Roof Bars variant when ordering if you require the complete roof-bar package.

Roof-bar loading: Wild Land has not provided Cap-it with a published load rating for this roof-bar package. Carry only suitable lightweight gear and confirm the limits of the tent, bars, mounting hardware, vehicle and supporting rack system before travel.

Designed to Stay on Your Vehicle

A rooftop tent is most useful when it is ready at the same time you are.

The OrthFrame’s short closed shell and streamlined front-to-rear profile make it particularly well suited to seasonal or year-round mounting on compatible vehicles. You do not need to plan every camping trip weeks in advance or find somewhere to store a large tent between weekends.

Pack the truck, finish work and head out. Your shelter is already there.

  • Compact footprint uses less rooftop space
  • Streamlined profile helps direct wind over the closed shell
  • Sloped form promotes rainwater drainage
  • Manageable weight for compatible vehicle and canopy systems
  • Fast fold-out design for uncomplicated camp setup
  • Hard shell protects the folded tent during travel and storage

The Weekend Starts Before You Leave the Driveway

When your tent stays mounted, the barrier between deciding to camp and actually going camping becomes much smaller. Throw in your food, clothes and camp gear, then point the truck somewhere better.

A Full-Length Sleeping Space for Two

The OrthFrame opens to create an inner tent measuring approximately 210 cm long, 125 cm wide and 108 cm high.

The interior is designed for two adults, giving couples or solo travellers a comfortable place to sleep without carrying the size and weight of a larger family rooftop tent.

  • Approximately 210 cm of sleeping length
  • Approximately 125 cm of sleeping width
  • Approximately 108 cm maximum interior height
  • Designed for two occupants
  • Suitable for couples or spacious solo camping
  • One large entry door for easy access

Cap-it Take: the OrthFrame is compact in the right places. It minimizes the shell you carry on the road while preserving the bed length and ventilation you appreciate once the tent is open.

Foam Mattress With Anti-Condensation Layer

The OrthFrame 130 V2 includes a 5 cm high-density foam mattress with a skin-friendly thermal cover.

Beneath the mattress is a 1 cm breathable mesh layer designed to create airflow between the mattress and tent floor. This helps manage moisture and reduce condensation beneath the sleeping surface.

  • 5 cm high-density foam mattress
  • Skin-friendly thermal mattress cover
  • 1 cm breathable mesh mattress layer
  • No inflation required before sleeping
  • No pressure adjustment required during the night
  • Simple, consistent sleeping surface

Tent care: an anti-condensation layer helps airflow, but it does not eliminate moisture. Air the tent, mattress and bedding regularly, particularly after cold nights, rain or extended storage.

Panoramic Ventilation

One large entry door and three oversized windows help keep the OrthFrame bright and comfortable in warm weather.

Open the surrounding panels to create cross-ventilation and wide outward views, while the insect screens allow airflow without inviting every mosquito at camp inside with you.

  • One large entry door
  • Three large surrounding windows
  • Cross-ventilation from multiple directions
  • Panoramic campsite views
  • Insect-screened openings
  • Large eave creates additional shade around the entrance

Warm Light After Dark

A sewn-in LED light strip provides useful interior lighting without requiring you to hang a loose lantern from the roof.

Use it while getting settled, organizing gear or winding down after the fire. The integrated design keeps the lighting clean and ready whenever the tent is open.

  • Integrated LED light strip
  • Even interior illumination
  • No hanging lantern required
  • Convenient for reading and organizing gear
  • Included with both tent configurations

Built for Changing Weather

The OrthFrame combines an aluminium honeycomb hard cover with durable coated fabrics selected for weather protection, UV resistance and repeated outdoor use.

  • Hard cover: aluminium honeycomb panel
  • Fly: 150D rip-stop polyoxford, PU 3000 mm
  • Fly coating: dull-silver finish with UPF 50+ protection
  • Inner tent: 600D rip-stop polyoxford, PU 2000 mm
  • Floor: 600D polyoxford, PU 3500 mm
  • Frame: aluminium construction
  • Ladder: telescopic aluminium

Waterproof ratings apply to the specified materials under laboratory testing. Correct setup, fabric care and closing the tent properly remain essential in sustained or severe weather.

Vehicle Fitment and Roof Capacity

The OrthFrame’s compact dimensions make it suitable for a broad range of properly equipped vehicles, including select SUVs, pickup trucks, truck canopies, vans and trailers.

That does not mean it fits every vehicle or every pair of factory crossbars. The roof, rack, canopy or bed-rack system must have adequate dimensions, crossbar spacing and dynamic capacity for the tent and all mounting hardware.

  • Suitable for select mid-size SUVs
  • Suitable for select full-size SUVs
  • Suitable for select mid-size pickup trucks
  • Suitable for select full-size pickup trucks
  • Compatible with properly rated truck canopies
  • May be fitted to compatible vans or trailers
  • Requires a load-rated mounting platform
  • Professional fitment confirmation is recommended

Important Fitment Note

The tent, ladder, occupants, roof bars, carried cargo, mounting hardware and supporting rack system must remain within all applicable vehicle and component ratings. The lowest rating within the complete system governs the finished installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between the two product variants?
Tent Only includes the OrthFrame 130 V2 and its standard equipment. Tent + Roof Bars adds two Wild Land bars above the closed hard shell for carrying compatible lightweight gear during travel.

Are the roof bars included with every OrthFrame?
No. The roof bars are included only when the Tent + Roof Bars variant is selected.

Can I carry gear above the tent?
Yes, when the tent is equipped with the optional roof bars and fully closed. Wild Land has not supplied Cap-it with a published load rating for these bars, so they should be used only for suitable lightweight equipment while remaining within all vehicle, tent, rack and mounting-system limits.

Does the OrthFrame use an air mattress?
No. The current OrthFrame 130 V2 supplied to Cap-it uses a 5 cm high-density foam mattress with a 1 cm breathable anti-condensation layer.

Why is an electric air pump included?
Wild Land includes an electric air pump in the current Canadian package. The OrthFrame mattress itself is foam and does not need to be inflated.

Is the OrthFrame the replacement for the Summit Explorer?
Yes. The OrthFrame 130 V2 replaces the former Wild Land Summit Explorer 130 in Cap-it’s rooftop-tent lineup. The Summit Explorer has been discontinued from our current assortment.

How many people does the OrthFrame sleep?
The tent is designed for two occupants and provides an inner sleeping area measuring approximately 210 x 125 cm.

Can bedding remain inside when the tent is closed?
The OrthFrame has a compact 29 cm closed height, so space for bedding is limited. Thin, neatly arranged bedding may fit, but bulky pillows, duvets or sleeping bags should be removed rather than forcing the shell closed.

Does the tent include interior lighting?
Yes. A sewn-in LED light strip is included.

Does the anti-condensation mat prevent all moisture?
No. It creates ventilation beneath the mattress to help manage condensation, but the tent and bedding must still be aired regularly. Moisture can develop in any tent, particularly during cold weather or extended storage.

Will the OrthFrame fit my vehicle?
The compact dimensions suit many properly equipped SUVs, trucks, canopies, vans and trailers. Compatibility depends on the available mounting area, crossbar spacing, rack design and load ratings of the complete vehicle system.

Can factory crossbars support the tent?
Some factory systems may be appropriate, while others may not have the required capacity, width or mounting position. Confirm the dynamic and static ratings before installation.

Is professional installation available?
Yes. Participating Cap-it locations can confirm fitment and professionally install the OrthFrame.

Who is the OrthFrame best suited for?
It is ideal for one or two campers who value a compact closed footprint, manageable weight and a straightforward foam-mattress sleeping system more than maximum interior size.
