THULE ROOFTOP TENTS
Thule Foothill 2 Rooftop Tent
Full-size two-person comfort in a rooftop tent that only takes up half the roof.
The Thule Foothill 2 is built for active travellers who want a rooftop tent without surrendering the rest of their roof to it.
Folded, it measures just 64 cm / 25 inches wide, preserving space beside the tent for compatible bikes, kayaks, boards, cargo and other equipment.
Open it at camp and you get a spacious two-person sleeping platform, panoramic windows, dual skylights and an upgraded 6 cm foam mattress. Compact when you drive. Properly comfortable when you stop.
HALF THE ROOF. FULL COMFORT.
Keep Carrying the Gear That Gets You Outside.
Most rooftop tents use nearly the entire width of a roof rack. The Foothill 2 takes a different approach.
Its long, narrow travel footprint preserves valuable space beside the tent for compatible bike carriers, kayak racks, boards, cargo and other adventure equipment.
The Foothill 2 is for people whose rooftop tent is part of the adventure setup, not the entire adventure setup.
BUILT FOR ACTIVE ADVENTURES
Tent on One Side. Adventure Gear on the Other.
CURRENT-GENERATION FOOTHILL
More Refined Where It Matters.
25" Closed Width
The defining Foothill feature remains intact: a narrow folded footprint that preserves valuable roof space for additional gear.
6 cm Mattress
The thicker foam mattress improves overnight comfort compared with the original Foothill while retaining a removable cover for easier cleaning.
Recycled Tent Fabric
Weather-resistant fabric uses 100% recycled solution-dyed polyester sourced from recycled plastic bottles.
Updated Mounting Rails
Thule mounting rails work with compatible Thule mounting brackets designed to make installation and removal faster and easier.
Panoramic Interior
Large windows, dual skylights and a wide entry create an airy interior with excellent visibility and connection to the outdoors.
One-Person Setup
Telescopic internal frame poles and a symmetrical, low-profile design make setup manageable for one person and allow mounting on either side of the vehicle.
BETTER SLEEP
A Thicker Mattress Makes a Real Difference.
The Foothill 2 uses a 6 cm / 2.4 inch foam mattress, giving it a meaningful comfort advantage over the original Foothill.
The removable mattress cover makes cleaning easier, while the 204 × 116 cm sleeping platform provides a proper two-person sleeping area without changing the tent's compact travel philosophy.
OPEN IT UP
Panoramic Views, Skylights and Real Ventilation.
Large Panoramic Windows
Broad window openings bring natural light and expansive views into the tent, making the interior feel larger and more connected to the campsite.
Dual Skylights
Look up at the sky when conditions allow while adding another source of natural light and ventilation to the sleeping area.
Mesh Ventilation
Mesh panels at the doors, windows and vent promote airflow while helping keep insects outside.
SMALL DETAILS MATTER
Keep the Tent Organized.
Four internal storage pockets help keep phones, flashlights, keys and other small camp essentials off the mattress and within reach.
Exterior attachment points also provide places for compatible lights, storage solutions and other camp accessories.
WHICH FOOTHILL?
Foothill 2 or the Original Foothill?
Both tents solve the same core problem: preserving roof space while still giving two people a legitimate rooftop sleeping system.
The decision comes down to whether you want the latest-generation improvements or the lower price of the original Foothill.

Your Vehicle and Rack System Matter.
Thule specifies a 61 cm / 24 inch minimum bar spread for the Foothill 2. The vehicle, roof rack, crossbars and mounting system must also meet all applicable load and compatibility requirements.
Thule lists compatibility with selected Xscape, Xsporter Pro and TracRac applications. Certain configurations require the separately sold Thule Xadapt 14.
Not sure whether your current setup is suitable? Talk to Cap-it before ordering and we'll help evaluate the vehicle, rack and tent as a complete system.
PROFESSIONAL INSTALLATION
Buy the Tent. Have Cap-it Install It.
Rooftop-tent installation depends on more than the tent itself. Vehicle roof capacity, crossbar spacing, rack ratings, mounting hardware and final tent position all need to work together.
Participating Cap-it locations can help confirm compatibility and professionally install the Foothill 2 on suitable trucks, SUVs and roof-rack systems.
If you don't already have the correct rack system, Cap-it can also help build the vehicle side of the setup before the tent goes on.

Tested at the Thule Test Center™ in Sweden.
Thule subjects its rooftop tents to rain and wind testing, multi-axis vibration testing and climate-cycle testing at its Test Center in Hillerstorp, Sweden.
The testing is designed to evaluate how the tent, mounting system and vehicle-rack interface perform through demanding travel and changing weather conditions.

THE CAP-IT TAKE
The Foothill Concept, Properly Evolved.
The smartest thing Thule did with the Foothill 2 was not change what made the original Foothill interesting.
It still takes up roughly half the width of a conventional rooftop tent, so cyclists, paddlers and multi-sport travellers can keep using the rest of the roof.
The improvements are focused where customers will actually notice them: a thicker mattress, recycled fabric and a more current mounting system.
The original Foothill is currently $950 less, which makes it a compelling value choice. But if you want the Foothill concept with the current-generation upgrades, the Foothill 2 is the better tent.
If you love the half-width design and want the newest version of it, this is the one to buy.
