THULE PREMIUM HARDSHELL ROOFTOP TENT
Thule Widesky 2-Person Hardshell Rooftop Tent
Fast setup. Panoramic views. Built-in sofa. This is the flagship Thule rooftop-tent experience.
The Thule Widesky is designed for campers who want more than a place to sleep.
Release the buckles and the gas-assisted hardshell opens in seconds. Inside, a premium 6 cm mattress converts into a sofa, large panoramic doors open the tent to the outdoors, integrated dimmable lighting sets the mood after dark, and a soft felt ceiling makes the entire space feel more like a room than a tent.
Available in Dark Slate or Ashland Grey.
THE FLAGSHIP EXPERIENCE
More Than Somewhere to Sleep.
The Widesky is built around the idea that a rooftop tent should be useful before bedtime too.
Fold the mattress into sofa mode and the interior becomes a comfortable elevated lounge, somewhere to read, relax, watch the weather roll in or simply enjoy the view.
Camp goes from something outside the tent to something you can enjoy from inside it.
FAST CAMP
Open in Seconds. No Fabric Tucking.
One of the biggest advantages of a premium hardshell tent is how little effort stands between arriving and relaxing.
Gas-Assisted Opening
Release the exterior buckles and the assisted opening system does most of the work.
No Fabric Tucking
Smooth fabric management means there is no tedious perimeter tucking every time you close the tent.
Simple Pull-Down Straps
Packing up is designed to be just as straightforward when it is time to get back on the road.
BUILT-IN SOFA MODE
A Rooftop Tent You Actually Want to Hang Out In.
The Widesky mattress folds into a supportive backrest, transforming part of the sleeping platform into a proper sitting area.
Combined with generous front headroom and large panoramic doors, it gives you a comfortable elevated place to relax before bed, enjoy a morning coffee or wait out bad weather.
This is one of the details that separates the Widesky from a rooftop tent designed purely around sleeping.
Premium Details Everywhere You Look
6 cm Quilted Mattress
A premium foam mattress with quilted cover provides a substantial sleeping surface for two adults.
Soft Felt Ceiling
The insulated felt ceiling adds warmth to the interior appearance while helping soften sound and create a more comfortable space.
Integrated Dimmable LEDs
Two built-in USB-powered LED lights provide adjustable interior illumination without needing separate camp lighting inside the tent.
Four Interior Pockets
Keep phones, lights, keys and small essentials organized and within reach instead of losing them in the bedding.
Panoramic Doors
Large openings create excellent visibility and airflow while making the interior feel substantially larger.
Full Accessory Track
A track runs around the tent perimeter, creating flexible mounting positions for compatible camp accessories.
PREMIUM CONSTRUCTION
Aluminium Where It Matters.
The Widesky combines a weather-resistant aluminium hardshell with an aluminium honeycomb base and reinforced structural components.
The canopy uses rugged 600D ripstop fabric made from 100% recycled solution-dyed polyester, balancing durability, breathability and weather resistance.
The result is a premium hardshell tent built to travel regularly rather than spend most of its life stored in the garage.
ENTER FROM ANY SIDE
Put the Ladder Where Your Campsite Needs It.
The Widesky ladder can be attached to any side of the tent, giving you more flexibility when the vehicle is parked close to trees, other vehicles or campsite obstacles.
Its padded storage bag protects the ladder during transport, helps protect the vehicle during use and converts into a hanging organizer once you're at camp.
OUR MUST-HAVE ADD-ON
Add the Widesky Side Door Rainfly.
The Widesky already includes weather protection for the rear door. For Canadian camping, we would seriously consider completing the setup with the optional Thule Widesky Side Door Rainfly.
The kit adds shelter over both the left and right side entrances, creating a dry and shaded transition area outside the tent.
That makes climbing in and out much more comfortable in rain and gives you additional shade when the sun is directly on the tent.
The complete kit includes both left and right side rainflies and packs neatly into the tent's rear-door pocket when not in use.

Extend the Season.
The Widesky is rated by Thule for all-season use, making it an appealing platform for campers who do not stop when summer ends.
For serious cold-weather trips, the Planar Portable Diesel Air Heater is one of our favourite ways to add clean, controlled warm air to a properly configured campsite.
Always follow the heater manufacturer's operating, ventilation, ducting and clearance requirements, and never place a combustion heater inside the rooftop tent.
Used correctly as part of an appropriate external heating setup, it can make shoulder-season and winter camping dramatically more comfortable.

Dark Slate or Ashland Grey.
901052
Dark Slate
The darker, more technical-looking finish for trucks and adventure builds where you want the tent to visually blend into racks, canopies and black accessories.
901053
Ashland Grey
A lighter neutral finish that works particularly well with modern SUVs, lighter vehicle colours and more subtle adventure builds.
BEFORE YOU MOUNT IT
Your Vehicle and Rack System Matter.
The Widesky weighs 67 kg without the ladder and requires a minimum crossbar spread of 70 cm.
Vehicle roof capacity, dynamic rack rating, crossbar spacing, mounting hardware and the complete installed system all need to be considered before mounting any rooftop tent.
Not sure? Talk to Cap-it before ordering. We can help evaluate the vehicle, rack and tent as a complete system.
PREMIUM MOUNTING SYSTEM
Lockable Brackets. Torque-Controlled Installation.
Thule's premium mounting brackets secure the Widesky to compatible crossbars and include a torque-limiting installation tool.
The brackets are lockable and are designed to reduce installation time compared with traditional rooftop-tent mounting hardware.
Participating Cap-it locations can confirm compatibility and professionally install the Widesky on suitable trucks, SUVs and roof-rack systems.

TESTED TO THE LIMIT
Tested at the Thule Test Center™ in Sweden.
Thule subjects its rooftop tents to demanding rain, wind, vibration and climate-cycle testing before they carry the Thule name.
For a tent designed to live on top of a moving vehicle through changing weather and thousands of kilometres of travel, that engineering matters.

THE CAP-IT TAKE
This Is the Thule Tent We'd Build the Dream Setup Around.
At $5,199.95, the Widesky needs to be more than a tent that happens to open quickly.
And it is.
The aluminium hardshell, compact 20 cm travel height and fast setup handle the practical side. The 6 cm mattress, panoramic doors, integrated lighting, felt ceiling and sofa mode handle the part that actually makes you want to stay inside it.
Then Thule adds the smart details: ladder access from any side, lockable premium mounting brackets, interior storage and a full accessory track around the tent.
If you're looking for the premium end of the Thule rooftop-tent lineup, this is the one we'd choose.
