THULE PREMIUM KAYAK CARRIER

Thule Hullavator Pro Lift-Assist Kayak Carrier

2024 MODEL CLEAROUT | BLACK FRIDAY: SAVE $200 — $799.95 through November 30.

Getting the kayak onto the roof shouldn't be the hardest part of going paddling.

The Thule Hullavator Pro changes the loading process by bringing the kayak down alongside your vehicle instead of making you lift it directly overhead. Double-extending arms lower the carrier by up to 3 feet, while gas-assist struts support up to 40 lb of the kayak's weight.

Load, secure and unload your kayak closer to waist height, even when you're heading out on your own.

THE HULLAVATOR DIFFERENCE

Stop Lifting Your Kayak Over Your Head.

A conventional roof carrier works perfectly well once the kayak is on the roof. The problem is getting it there.

That's especially true with taller SUVs and trucks, longer boats or heavier recreational and fishing kayaks. The Hullavator Pro moves the loading point down the side of the vehicle so you can position and secure the kayak closer to waist height.

Instead of designing the carrier around the roof, Thule designed it around the person doing the loading.

LOAD WITH LESS EFFORT

Let the Hullavator Do the Heavy Part.

Lower the Carrier

Double-extending arms lower the kayak carrier by up to 3 feet along the side of the vehicle, bringing the loading position much closer to you.

Load at Waist Height

Position the kayak in the padded cradles while the carrier is lowered rather than trying to balance and secure the boat overhead.

Gas Assist Takes the Weight

Gas-assist struts support up to 40 lb of the kayak's weight while you raise the carrier into its transport position.

GO PADDLING ON YOUR SCHEDULE

One Person Can Load the Kayak.

For many paddlers, this is the real reason to own a Hullavator.

You don't necessarily need another person standing on the opposite side of the vehicle to help lift, position and steady the kayak. Thule specifically designed the lift-assist system so you can load and unload on your own.

That can turn a kayak trip from something that requires coordination into something you can do when the weather, water and your schedule line up.

DESIGNED AROUND THE BOAT TOO

Support, Protection and Secure Transport.

8 Padded Contact Points

Eight padded support points distribute contact around the kayak to help protect the hull while loading and travelling.

Adjustable Cradles

Corrosion-resistant cradles expand to accommodate a range of wider kayak hulls.

75 lb Maximum Load

The Hullavator Pro supports a single kayak weighing up to 35 kg, approximately 75 lb.

Bow + Stern Tie-Downs Included

Thule QuickDraw bow and stern tie-downs are included for securing one kayak as part of the complete transport setup.

Corrosion-Resistant Construction

Aluminum and double-coated steel construction is engineered for durability in the wet environments that naturally come with paddling.

One-Key Compatible

The Hullavator Pro is compatible with Thule's One-Key System for customers who want to integrate compatible Thule locks into one key system.

BEFORE YOU ORDER

2024 Model Fitment — Please Read Before Ordering.

The Hullavator Pro is not a universal carrier that should be assumed to fit every crossbar or every vehicle.

This 2024-model 898001 works with a range of Thule load-bar systems including WingBar Evo, WingBar/AeroBlade-style bars, SquareBar Evo, ProBar, Xsporter Pro and compatible TracRac applications.

IMPORTANT: MODEL 898001 DOES NOT FIT THULE WINGBAR EDGE OR AEROBLADE EDGE. If your vehicle uses an Edge-style Thule crossbar system, choose the current Hullavator Pro 898010 instead.

COMPLETE ROOF-RACK SETUP

Carrier, Crossbars and Vehicle Need to Work Together.

A premium kayak carrier only works properly when the rack beneath it is correctly matched to the vehicle and the intended load.

Cap-it can help evaluate your existing roof rack, determine compatible Thule components where required and professionally install the complete system at participating locations.

This is particularly valuable on taller SUVs and trucks, where the Hullavator's lower loading position can make the biggest difference.

Tested at the Thule Test Center™ in Sweden.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much weight does the Hullavator Pro actually lift?

Thule specifies that the gas-assist struts support up to 40 lb of the kayak's weight while raising and lowering the carrier.

How far does the Hullavator lower?

The double-extending arms lower the kayak by up to 3 feet, allowing you to load, position and strap the kayak much closer to waist height.

Can I load my kayak by myself?

Yes. Solo loading is one of the primary purposes of the Hullavator Pro. The lowered loading position and gas-assist system are designed to make loading and unloading manageable for one person.

What is the maximum kayak weight?

The maximum load is 35 kg, approximately 75 lb.

Does it include tie-downs?

Yes. Thule QuickDraw bow and stern tie-downs for transporting one kayak are included.

Will the Hullavator Pro fit my existing roof rack?

It depends on the rack and vehicle configuration. This 2024-model 898001 does not fit Thule WingBar Edge or AeroBlade Edge systems. If you have an Edge-style bar, choose the current 898010 model. For all installations, the complete vehicle and rack setup should be verified before ordering.

Can Cap-it install the Hullavator Pro?

Participating Cap-it locations can help confirm roof-rack compatibility and professionally install compatible rack and watersports-carrier systems.

THE CAP-IT TAKE

The Best Kayak Carrier Is the One That Gets You on the Water More Often.

At the Black Friday price of $799.95, this remaining-stock 2024 Hullavator Pro is a compelling way into Thule's lift-assist kayak system. You're not paying a premium because it carries a kayak better once it's on the roof.

You're paying for what happens before and after the drive.

Lowering the kayak down the side of the vehicle changes the entire loading process. Add up to 40 lb of gas-assisted lift and suddenly loading a kayak onto a tall SUV or truck becomes a much more manageable one-person job.

That matters if you paddle alone, own a heavier kayak, drive a taller vehicle, or simply don't want lifting the boat overhead to determine whether you go paddling that day.

If your rack is compatible, this remaining-stock 2024 model delivers the core Hullavator Pro experience at a very strong Black Friday price. Once these units are gone, move to the current 898010 model.
